We are delighted to welcome you to the new “The Speech & Drama Teachers of Ireland” website which shall be updated with current news. We are still in development and welcome any feedback.
The Speech & Drama Teachers of Ireland is voluntary association which aims to encourage and develop excellence in the teaching and learning of speech, drama, voice, communication and effective speaking.
We provide support to teachers and students through events, materials with a forum to meet other teachers, to promote speech and drama activities in Ireland. This is done through our events and annual Drama Festival.
Our annual Festival of Drama provides our members with a competitive platform to present the work they do with their students. This is a most enjoyable weekend with children from age four to eighteen years taking part. The Festival has gone from strength to strength over the years and is a highlight in the organizations’ calendar.
We would be delighted to hear from you if you are interested in joining.
Membership is open to holders of Licentiates and Associates Diplomas from recognized speech and drama examining bodies and costs €50 a year.
Student membership is available for at the same rate as our retired teachers’ membership costing €25.
For more information on membership, please follow the link on the Contact Us page. You may download a Membership Renewal/Application form or contact our Membership Secretary, Mary Whelan Fox.
