A message from your SDToI Board 🎭

Last updated: 15 September 2020
The Board of SDToI have been busy over the last number of months to ensure that we continue to provide you with the best service we can.

Returning to classrooms and drama teaching every September is such an exciting time, and while we all want to be with our students, working towards our goals, we also know that this year’s return brings some new challenges.

We are here to support you however we can! Here is a broad overview of some areas for consideration:

·      Roadmap for returning to schools

·      Risk Assessments

·      Co-Vid Officer Training Courses

·      Teaching On-Line

·      Preparing for Examinations On-Line

·      Accessing funding to restart your business.

You may have suggestions that we have not considered – please do tell us what you will be doing – it may be of great benefit to another colleague. This is not an exhaustive list, and you may have specific circumstances that concern you – please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss any aspects of your return to work.

We will be providing more in-depth information in a number of areas over the coming month, and we invite you to tell us what you need if you don’t see it here.

We are grateful to you all for your kind words as we worked through the disappointment of cancelling and refunding all our Feis entries. But your SDToI membership covers so much more:

·      Access to Drama On-Line

·      Professional Development and Workshops

·      Networking Opportunities

·      Representation of Qualified and Experienced Teachers

·      Guidance and support for returning to work

Please click on the documents below for more information that may be relevant to you:

We plan to schedule meetings (online) to explore areas of interest to members, and to offer expert guidance from those who have continued to teach throughout this pandemic. We hope that these meetings will offer networking opportunities, and we will be posting the dates for these events on our website, so do check it regularly for updates:

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you!
